About Penguinista.org

OKAY, since you're here, we'll explain a little about ourselves. We'll tell you who we are and share some of our philosophy with you. We'll even go as far as to tell you where the name came from, what we do, and why. We'll also answer some questions and tell you how you can be involved in various Penguinista Pursuits. All this, and the daily news for good measure.

Penguinista.org is accepting articles of general interest to the Linux and Open Source communities. We are particularly keen to receive opinion, editorial, analytical, "op-ed" and testimonial-style compositions, and yes, we will accept unsolicited manuscripts. At present, we are accepting work in almost any format, although we prefer non-proprietary text-file formats. If for some inexplicable reason you are using MS-Word, please send RTF rather than DOC files. Whatever you do, please don't "save as HTML" from a word processor. All articles should be free of formatting apart from headings and paragraph breaks. If you have any specific questions concerning article submissions, please email the editor at editor@penguinista.org. All articles will be published under the Penguinista Open Content Licence (POCL), which contributors should review before submitting articles. Submissions are preferred via our submissions page.

All content on this website is provided under the Penguinista Open Content Licence (POCL), except as may be noted with respect to content from other sources.

The Penguinista News files are served in various formats for use by other websites as may be appropriate. The source scripts are mostly written in Perl, and are available for download under the POCL, and uses a MySQL database.
